6. About my poetry

This weeks inspiration:

While in bed, about a week ago, I got this thought in my head about "Blessed are they who don't see, yet believe." When I get thoughts like that, my poetic brain goes into motion and I start thinking of a poem. My problem is if I think of the poem then, I'll wake up and forget about it (Don't you hate that?). :) SO, what I do is if God wants me to write the poem, I pray He helps me remember the thought. I woke up the next day and forgot about it. I went to check Mark Lowry's website and his Rambling ReMarks (his own random thoughts that he puts up only on his website) and saw he had written all about that subject and it triggered my thought again. (If you'd like to see what he wrote, go to his site at www.marklowry.com and go to Rambling reMarks on the first page, it's November 20, Believing Without Seeing.) I then looked up the scripture reference about doubting Thomas and how he needed prove that Jesus really was alive. He needed to see and touch the holes in Jesus's hands and feet. John 20:29 - Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe." What an awesome thing to know, as believers, that we are even more blessed because we believe without seeing. Yet, while we have not seen Christ, His love and mercy is so evident in all we do see. While we still have our doubts sometimes, just look around you and you will see Christ in the world He created, in a person who is saved, in the person He has healed, or in the person He is working a perfect will. I'm going off on another subject, but bear with me for a moment. The older I get, the more in awe of God I become. The more at peace I grow in His will for my life, the more I want to live my life for Him and learn the things He's so patient to teach me. I still have so much to learn, but I'm eager and willing to learn it. So, while I can't see Christ right now, I will see His mercy, love and the wonderful things He has in store for me. In that, we sure are blessed...

Blessed Are They

In the Garden of Eden,

they had sweet communion,

but were cast out because of their sin.

Down through the ages,

we read through the pages,

that sin had spread through all men.

So a Saviour came down,

and gave up His crown.

He was crucified and buried three days

but when He came out,

Thomas had doubts,

To him, here's what Jesus had to say,

Blessed are those who don't see, yet believe,

happy and envied to be.

Here you've seen me,

yet they will not see,

So, blessed are they who believe.

Miracles and wonders,

He calmed the thunder.

He healed the crippled and lame.

While many believed,

Still some were deceived,

their lack of faith is to blame.

Years have gone by,

Now I join in the cry,

"I believe in the power of His name!"

For, blessed are those who don't see, yet believe,

happy and envied to be.

For though we don't see,

our faith sets us free,

So, blessed are they who believe.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE -

Signs Found In Kitchens

1. A messy kitchen is a happy kitchen and this kitchen is delirious.

2. No husband has ever been shot while doing the dishes.

3. A husband is someone who takes out the trash and gives the impression he just cleaned the whole house.

4. If we are what we eat, then I'm easy, fast, and cheap.

5. A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand.

6. Thou shalt not weigh more than thy refrigerator.

7. Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused.

8. A clean house is a sign of a misspent life.

9. Help keep the kitchen clean - eat out.

10. Housework done properly can kill you.

11. Countless number of people have eaten in this kitchen and gone on to lead normal lives.

12. My next house will have no kitchen --- just vending machines.

About my poetry:

We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need. If you ever wished to be removed, please send me an e-mail and I will remove you, no hard feelings. :) God bless.
