2. Poem- Just Around the Corner
3. Check it out- Jeanie Hutton
I was chatting with my friend the other day, and she was explaining to me how she gave something, that she was struggling with, up to God, and He worked things out so perfectly. I then said to her, "Isn't it awesome how God works? We get frustrated and upset over things, and just around the corner, God's got an awesome plan waiting to happen." In fact, I'm going through it myself. God is trying to teach me to trust and be patient. Yeah, sure! :) Well, I thought about those words, "just around the corner," and it sparked up a poem. It seems to go along with my last poem, "Just Hold On", a song Anita Rundell will be putting to music!!! (I know she'll do a fantastic job, just like she did with "Knowing You.") I believe sometimes we give Satan too much credit for something God may be taking us through. Sometimes the trials we face are only to make us stronger, to test our faith. James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing. The things we struggle with can be difficult at the time we go through them, but Just Hold On, cause God's got a wonderful plan in store...
How it seems life's rugged roads,
can take so many turns.
For the ending of this journey,
we all start to yearn.
But on this path we must learn,
to walk the extra mile.
For when we walk with Jesus,
it is worth the while.
So if you hit a crossing,
and you don't know where to go,
put it in the Father's hands,
And soon the way He'll show.
For just around the corner,
He's got something else in mind,
He's got a plan, He understands,
but it will be in His time.
So take a step in faith,
and walk a little longer,
God's will is waiting,
just around the corner.
When you face decisions,
that you can't figure out,
when all of your dreams,
don't seem to come about.
It may just be that God,
has something else in store.
If you see through eyes of faith,
He'll show you even more.
This weeks featured website is probably my most special so far. Perhaps some of you have heard me mention the name Jeanie Hutton. I went to visit her in West Virginia last September, after knowing her for only two months. Now there's a special story behind this friendship. I had signed Bev Lowry's guestbook, saying at the end I'm Mark Lowry's biggest fan. Jeanie saw that and felt the need to argue it, in a joking manner, in Bev's guestbook. I got an overwhelming feeling to write her and continue "arguing", as a joke, and instantaneously we became the best of friends. Something instantly clicked between us, and it has grown to become one of the dearest friendships I have ever had. Her heart and love for the Lord and others is one of the most genuine I've ever seen. She has encouraged me time and again and given me the push to keep going, when I didn't want to. Now, the real uniqueness is that Jeanie is almost 60(sorry Jeanie), and I'm only 22, yet we are so close. She considers me her closest friend, next to her husband. I could go on and on what a special friendship God brought into my life when He sent me Jeanie, but I'd like you to see for yourself. With the push of friends, and
prayer, Jeanie now has her own website. See, Jeanie has polio and is in a wheelchair. She was told to start her own website to reach out to those with handicaps, to encourage them, because, I believe, that's what she does so well. With her enthusiastic spirit, and love for the Lord, I believe that's just what she'll do. She and her family have been through SO much, as you will read, yet she has come out with such a joyous spirit. The site is for everyone, though, NOT just people with handicaps. You will SURELY be blessed to read the inspirations and stories Jeanie has to share. So, please check it out and see just what I mean. OH, and you'll notice a link at the bottom of her first page...hmmm...wonder who he is? There's another link right next to it...that someone's best friend, and one of the NICEST men you'll ever get to know. Very down to earth, and also has the sweetest wife too. :) OK, I'm done!!! An Amish boy and his father were visiting a mall. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and then slide back together again.
The boy asked, "What is this, Father?"
The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, "Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life, I don't know what it is."
While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, a rather heavy, not too attractive, older lady walked up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady walked between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small circular numbers above the walls light up sequentially. They continued to watch until it reached the last number and then the numbers began to light in the reverse order.
Finally the walls opened up again and a beautiful, young woman stepped out. The father, said quietly to his son, "Go get your Mother."
We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need. If you ever wished to be removed, please send me an e-mail and I will remove you, no hard feelings. :) God bless.
