This week's inspiration:

This poem was inspired a few weeks ago when I was talking to someone about...well...Mark Lowry. I KNOW...I KNOW...you are all sitting there in shock. :) Anyway, I was telling them how I first knew of the Gaithers and how I first got to know Mark. I saw him on "Singin with the Saints", a Gaither video, and something about him just caught my eye. There was something in his eyes, they sparkled, and his personality, that made me say, "I have to get to know him." I didn't even know his name. As you all know, now, I am his biggest fan. I don't know what gives it away either. :)

My point with all this? I saw something in Mark, something more than just a comedian. I saw a depth to him. I think I saw it in Mark first, (then later on with the other singers, when I got into the Gaither music more), because many people just see him just as a comedian and someone who's always silly. I saw and still see him as more serious. He even says so himself. I see a real love for God and for people that reflects in his eyes and just the way he is. He has a good heart. He just happens to have a great sense of humor that I really enjoy. :) He has been a blessing in my life and God has really used him in many ways to help me grow in my walk. Now, I don't want you thinking I hold Mark on a pedestal. I know he's human and imperfect, just like any other person, and his fame doesn't matter to me either. He just happens to be an example, a familiar name, that I'm using. I could tell you about my family or so many of my other friends that I know personally and on-line that have helped me grow and have encouraged me in so many ways. Wonderful people God has brought into my life...people I've never even met that I have felt such a genuine love for God. See, I think it's important, no matter who you are or where God has placed you, to be a light to others...a reflection of Jesus. People will see your example and want to know why you are the way you are.  Then that will be your open door to share your faith. I pray you all shine with the light of Jesus, so that others may say to you or to others, "You know, when I met that person, I saw..."

A Glimpse of Jesus

There came a time in one girl's life,

when she faced the great unknown.

She questioned what her life was for,

and if she here belonged.

While searching for some meaning,

in some far and distant land,

she came upon a child of God,

a kind and gentle man.

He told her of a Paradise,

beyond the eastern sky.

He told her of the Son of God,

and why He had to die.

With hope inside her heart,

she began to pray.

And when she said "Amen",

The man then heard her say,

"I caught a glimpse of Jesus,

I saw it in your eyes.

And when you spoke His name,

it came as no surprise.

The hand that touched your heart,

was reaching out to mine.

yes, I caught a glimpse of Jesus,

I saw it in your eyes."

As we struggle through this life,

There are ones who struggle more.

They don't care what is at stake,

or what's beyond death's door.

We need to be a lighthouse,

To lead them to the Way.

For when the Lord shines through you,

You may hear them say,

"I caught a glimpse of Jesus,

I saw it in your eyes.

And when you spoke His name,

it came as no surprise.

The hand that touched your heart,

was reaching out to mine.

yes, I caught a glimpse of Jesus,

I saw it in your eyes."

This weeks featured site are two sisters, Annie and Kelly McRae. They were featured at Mark's recent video taping in NY City. It was the first time I had ever heard them, and as Mark put it, "I was blown away by them." Mark heard their CD, and now they are touring with him!! They are very talented. Annie is only 17 and Kelly is 14. They look much older, but I believe it's because of their maturity. They definitely reflect the love of God and I just pray they always use their talent for the glory of God. They both have beautiful voices, and sweet personalities. I know you will be blessed by their site as I was. You can hear samples of their music, read their journals, see some pictures from Mark's concert, check out their schedule, and just be blessed by their ministry. They both said last year they were in the nose bleed section of a Mark Lowry concert, and are now on his newest video! Maybe one day I'll be able to say the same of the Gaithers. :) God is good...all the time!! So, CHECK IT OUT...Annie & Kelly McRae: The Official Web Site OR http://www.annieandkellymcrae.com/

On the Lighter Side...

Ode to Little Birdie

I lied in bed one morning,

The earth lay cool and still.

When suddenly a little birdie

Perched on my windowsill.

He sang a song so lovely,

So carefree and so gay,

That slowly all my troubles

Began to slip away.

He sang of far away places,

Of laughter and of fun.

It seemed his very chirping

Brought up the morning sun.

I crept out of my covers,

Slipped slowly out of bed,

Then quickly shut the window

And crushed his stupid head.

I'm just not a morning person.......

About my poetry:

We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need. If you ever wished to be removed, please send me an e-mail and I will remove you, no hard feelings. :) God bless.
