I'd like to pass along something my father wrote. I know it will speak to you as it did to me. There's a lot of truth in the following. I thought it would be a good thing for the New Year. Hope you are blessed!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
“Might Have Been” James Sangiorgio
There is a land called “Might Have Been.” We’ve all been at its borders Looked at it over the waters But somehow we can’t get in.
“Might Have Been” does exist, and it’s real in our minds. It’s where we send our hopes and dreams. Hopes and dreams and some good thoughts of helping others and putting ourselves aside. Yet, getting across its bridge escapes us, like swimming against the tide.
The reality is that our lives, though lamented, are lived in the “Here and Now,” But “Here and Now” seems so dull and boring. Work a bit, eat and then sleep, wake up and repeat A routine that seems so killing.
God had a “Might Have Been” but our ancestors sinned And He placed them in “Here and Now.” They worked, ate and slept Never seeing the promised Saviour restore the “Might Have Been.”
But the Saviour did come to the “Here and Now” Worked a bit, ate and slept. He kept Himself busy with healing and preaching, overcoming the “Here and Now” But before He left, through His suffering and death, He released us to God’s “Might Have Been.”
Fact is, God’s “Might Have Been” would be “Never to Be” had He not lived in the “Here and Now.”
