4. On the lighter side - Dear God
Did you ever wonder what Jesus' IQ must have been?
Think about that...He knew EVERYTHING...and then some. He had His Father's wisdom and knowledge...what a brain!!! He would have been off the charts! As I thought about that today, I wondered had he lived in our time, what he might have been? Yet, if you really think about it...He was everything, yet so much more that we can't take it all in or comprehend just how awesome He really is. He was, and these are only a few things...a doctor in every way...healed the sick, raised people from the dead, gave sight to the blind...a teacher and preacher...teaching His Father's wisdom to all who would hear...a lawyer...one who defended those who didn't know better, and rebuked those who did...an accountant...giving unto Caesar that which is Caesar's...a mathematician &...dividing fishes and bread among thousands...a writer...speaking words that would forever be written in our hearts...and He has inspired some of the most beautiful songs ever written. Jesus was everything. He was also God's Son, only begotten Son...a King. He was also the perfect example of everything we should be. He became flesh and dwelt among us, and He sent His Spirit to dwell in those who accept Him.
And, with the Spirit's help, we are being conformed to the image of Christ. He showed us that being human is not easy, that with it will come trials, tempations, sickness and even death, but with Christ in us, we can overcome all of that, and one day we will dwell with Him in Glory. Oh what a day that will be!! He lived like a King, yet came to do His Father's work, and dwelt as a pauper to show us just what we need to be...more like Him.
With the wisdom of your Father,
You taught us all we need to know.
Lord, please use that wisdom,
To help my faith to grow.
You healed the sick,
and raised the dead,
You divided fish,
And broke the bread.
Lord, You are amazing,
You're everything I lack.
Let me learn by Your example,
So to others I may give back.
Chorus: I want to be more like You,
For You're everything to me.
I want to love like You,
It's Your love that set me free.
I want to teach like you,
And know just what to say.
I want faith like You,
And know just what to pray.
Lord, help these blinded eyes to see.
For just like You,
That's the way I want to be.
You gave to those who needed,
You turned water into wine,
You were gracious to the children,
And gave sight to the blind.
Even when accusations,
And lies were thrown Your way,
Your silence, it spoke volumes.
Help me be like that today.
Chorus: I want to be more like You,
For You're everything to me.
I want to love like You,
It's Your love that set me free.
I want to teach like you,
And know just what to say.
I want faith like You,
And know just what to pray.
Lord, help these blinded eyes to see.
For just like You,
That's the way I want to be.
I just wanted to give ya'll a quick update on what's been going on in my life. I recently won the grand prize on Gaithernet which consists of a phone call from Bill Gaither, 4 tickets to a concert, 4 backstage passes and a free video or CD. I will use the tickets and passes for the September 8, NJ concert, and my mother and two sisters will be going with me. I won because I got the most points by posting a lot on their message boards and for chatting in their chatroom. I haven't received the phone call from Bill yet, but I will let you know how that goes when it happens. I am very excited!! God is continuing to do so many tremendous things in my life. I have some really exciting concerts and road trips coming up, and I will tell you all about them when I get back!! One is next week to OH, with a friend, to see the Trio, and Anthony Burger, and getting to meet a lot of my chatroom friends from Gaithernet!! It will be a lot of fun!! I'll tell ya'll about them when I return!
Please keep my family and I in your prayers. The lady we rent the house from is moving in, so we need to figure out where to go. We all trust God's got a great plan in mind for us, He just hasn't let us in on it yet! HA! :o) I am also contemplating a move to TN, and still need a job before I go. Pray that if it's God's will, He will provide that job and give me direction. A lot of other really awesome things are going to happen soon, but I am not at liberty to say right now. I promise to let you know when I can!! Thanks for your prayers, support and encouragement!! It is very much appreciated!! God bless you all!!
A little boy wanted $100 badly and prayed for two weeks but nothing happened. Then he decided to write GOD a letter requesting the $100. When the postal authorities received the letter addressed to GOD USA, they decided to send it to President Clinton.
The President was so impressed, touched, and amused that he instructed his secretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill.
President Clinton thought this would appear to be a lot of money to a little boy. The little boy was delighted with the $5.00 and sat down to write a thank you note to GOD, which read:
Dear GOD,
Thank you very much for sending the money but, I noticed that for some reason you had to send it through Washington D.C. and, as usual, those jerks deducted $95.00...
We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need. If you ever wished to be removed, please send me an e-mail and I will remove you, no hard feelings. :) God bless. Please visit my poetry site for other Poems for the Journey...
