I pray you all have a wonderful Easter weekend as we think about the awesome gift God gave us...His only begotten Son that died for our sins and then rose again so we can live with Him in Glory!! AMEN!! ......We often say, "I have faith in you!" When you have faith in someone, you're believing that they can do something. When you have faith in Jesus, you're saying, and believing in your heart, that He died for your sins and His blood can cleanse you, and you will have eternal life as He promised. But how much faith does it take? God says, in Matthew 17:30, "Jesus replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to
there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." I believe that's all it took for the thief on the cross next to Jesus. I once wrote a fictional story wondering how this thief knew enough about Jesus to know that faith and a few simple words would get him into Heaven. He knew he was going to die, but he had enough faith inside to believe, that all he said was, in Luke 23: 42..."Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." What a beautiful testimony. Too many of us put so much emphasis on what religion we are, and what we have to be, say and do in order to be saved, but all it takes is faith. God doesn't care about labels or acts. He wants to see you produce Spiritual fruit inside. With faith as small as the grain of a mustard seed, we can move mountains!! After we become saved, and we trust Him and truly follow His word, that faith will grow stronger and stronger. BUT, it's not our faith that does it, but WHO we put our faith in. So, if you don't know Jesus, remember the thief on the cross. All it took was faith and a few simple words...
As I writhed in pain and anguish,
I watched the man below.
As they drove the nails in deeper,
I felt compassion from His soul.
I had heard about His healing,
but who would Heal His pain?
His cross was lifted beside me,
and I looked at Him again.
As the people mocked His suffering,
I saw their unbelief.
In faith I turned to Jesus,
Would this Saviour save a thief?
"Remember me,
in my sin, don't let me die.
I believe you are the Son of God,
A truth I won't deny."
Then Jesus turned to me,
and with mercy in His eyes.
"My child, you will be with Me,
Today, in Paradise."
I wandered on a road,
that sin had led me down
It left me crushed and beaten,
with no hope to be found.
My heart cried for compassion,
but who would hear my pleas?
A hand reached out with mercy,
and I was driven to my knees.
I turned my heart to Jesus,
with faith just like the thief,
And in all my sin and shame,
would this Saviour set me free?
"Remember me,
in my sin, don't let me die.
I believe you are the Son of God,
a truth I won't deny."
Jesus said to me,
"You're forgiven of your sin.
You will be with me,
one day, in Heaven."
Bridge:
My sins are now forgiven,
I'm a child of the King,
I am written in His book of life,
and that is why I sing,
"He knows me,
for my sins, my Saviour died.
I believe He is the Son of God,
a truth I won't deny.
Will you turn your heart to Him,
and let Him set you free.
If you do, He'll welcome you,
into Eternity."
This weeks featured site is someone God brought into my life in a mysterious way. I received an e-mail from them about my poetry. It was one of the most encouraging e-mails I have gotten, and I couldn't help but wonder who they were. I wrote thanking them, and they wrote back, but never mentioned how they found me. They have since kept in touch, and have blessed and encouraged me in many ways. They sent along their own website, and I took a look, and I must tell you I was truly blessed. The Easter message you will see on the first opening page goes along so perfectly with this week's inspiration and poem. I know what they say will touch your hearts and bless your Spirit. Please visit their site and see what I mean!! Here is a paragraph from their site...From the United States to the West Indies, to Europe, to Africa....all around the World......THOUSANDS have come to know JESUS CHRIST as their Saviour and people all over the world have come to a stronger walk with the Lord through the outreach of this ministry founded in 1978, by Dr. Gene Minix. Lessons from a squirrel...If you recall my Poems for the JourneY newsletter where I talked about how God's creation has a purpose for everything, you will understand my insight. God doesn't create things for no reason. Even that pesky mosquito, which I'll probably never understand the reason for, has a purpose! :) Well, my father, who has become this incredible gardener (and has made our backyard look BEAUTIFUL), has a birdfeeder outside. My father has put it in every possible place, in every possible way, to keep the squirrels from getting to it, BUT, those squirrels found a way to get to it EVERY time!! I thought, "How persistent those little critters are!!" I began to think, "No matter where or how my dad put it, those squirrels never gave up. They kept at it until they found a way." If we learn from these animals, never give up, and keep at it, God will make a way in His timing and His will for our lives. Well, now my dad has put a wire fence around it, and it seems that the squirrels still try and get in, but I think they've figured out that they can eat the seeds that fall to the ground. Sometimes God closes a door (wire fence), but if we wait at the bottom, we can "eat" the blessings He gives while we wait for His will to
work out. Hope this blessed you!!
HOW TRUE ARE THESE?????
THINGS THAT TRY YOUR SANITY
|
You have to try on a pair of sunglasses with that stupid little plastic thing in the middle of them.
|
The person behind you in the supermarket runs his cart into the back of your ankle.
|
The elevator stops on every floor and nobody gets on
|
There's always a car riding your tail when you're slowing down to find an address.(Isn't that always the case? :))
|
You open a can of soup and the lid falls in.(I can't stand that)
|
It's bad enough that you step in dog poop, but you don't realize it till you walk across your living
|
room rug. | |
|
The tiny red string on the Band-Aid wrapper never works for you.
|
There's a dog in the neighborhood that barks at EVERYTHING.(I have one of those. Drives my family nuts)
|
You can never put anything back in a box the way it came.
|
Three hours and three meetings after lunch, you look in the mirror and discover a piece of parsley stuck
|
to your front tooth. | |
|
You drink from a soda can in which someone has extinguished a cigarette.
|
You slice your tongue licking an envelope.
|
Your tire gauge lets out half the air while you're trying to get a reading.
|
A station comes in brilliantly when you're standing near the radio but buzzes, drifts and spits every
|
time you move away. | |
|
There are always one or two ice cubes that won't pop out of the tray.
|
You wash a garment with a tissue in the pocket and your entire laundry comes out covered with lint.
|
The car behind you blasts its horn because you let a pedestrian finish crossing.
|
A piece of foil candy wrapper makes electrical contact with your filling.
|
You set the alarm on your digital clock for 7pm instead of 7am.
|
The radio station doesn't tell you who sang that song.(When I used to listen to the radio, that drove me nuts!)
|
You rub on hand cream and can't turn the bathroom doorknob to get out. (Ok, how many times have we all done this???)
|
People behind you in the supermarket line dash ahead of you to a counter just opening up.
|
Your glasses slide off your ears when you perspire.
|
You can't look up the correct spelling of a word in the dictionary because you don't know how to spell
|
it.(DUH!) LOL | |
|
You have to inform five different salespeople in the same store that you're just browsing.
|
You had that pen in your hand only a second ago and now you can't find it...(or you walk out of a room to get something, forget what you're getting, and go back in the same room to try and jog your memory.
|
It works, though!!! LOL)
|
You reach under the table to pick something off the floor and smash your head on the way back up. |
We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need. If you ever wished to be removed, please send me an e-mail and I will remove you, no hard feelings. :) God bless.
