I love being able to look at just about everything God created and apply it to life. He's got a reason and purpose for everything. Let's take seasons, for instance. One of the most interesting things I like most about God's imagination and creativity are the four seasons...winter, spring, summer, fall. Think about this...summer brings heat and sunshine. God's love brings Sonshine into our lives...and our faith builds up until we're on fire for God. Fall is the changing of the leaves, then they die and fall off the trees. Our lives are changed when Christ is in our lives. The old man falls away, we become changed and our past sins are gone....they die and become no more. Then comes winter...cold, damp, and bitter. Life can be cold, and bitter, bringing with it heartaches and frustrations. God wraps us in His arms, like we wrap ourselves in a coat, and keeps us safe and warm from the bitter cold. Once winter is over, spring blooms it's fragrant flowers and life starts all over. Once our hardships are over, we see God's awesome power and grace throughout that period and God blooms His peace and blessings in our lives once again. So, as life goes on, we will go through our own seasons....the....
The changing of the leaves,
the fragrance of the rain,
the snowy fall of winter,
spring’s flowers bloom again.
The sunshine of the summer,
begins to impart
the changing of
the seasons of the heart.
When your heart is cold and frozen,
in your life’s own winter storm,
when only a blanket of emptiness,
is there to keep you warm.
When you wish your troubles would blow away,
like fall leaves upon a tree,
The wind would take them far beyond,
So that you could be free.
It is then a ray of Light,
breaks the ice apart,
Sonshine melts the loneliness
in the seasons of your heart.
Chorus:
Let His Son shine on your soul,
His living waters cleanse within,
And His Spirit, through you, show.
To let your flowers bloom again.
A new beginning He will impart,
in the seasons of your heart.
Bridge:
The bitter winds will come and go,
but summer soon will start.
Your sins will fall away with the wind,
in the seasons of your heart.
Roses will soon bloom again,
in the seasons of your heart.
This weeks featured website is of a very good friend of mine, Anita Rundell. We have been friends for almost two years, via internet, (can you believe it Anita?), and she has been a source of encouragement and strength many times. The two of us have quite a lot in common, and have shared so much over the years. The only "problems" we have encountered as friends? We are still fighting over who is Mark Lowry's biggest fan. She knows I am, but she refuses to give on it. :) hee hee. JK, Anita!! Well, I hope you check out her website. She did the entire thing on her own, and I give her so much credit. She has done a fantastic job!!!! Maybe you could even vote for it (there's a link on her site to vote) and help her get to the number one spot. I think she's number 7 right now!! GO ANITA! SO, please check out her website and see what a special person she is. I know her testimony and the other things she has on her site will bless your heart. OH, and remember the name Anita Rundell...she's pursuing a career in singing (she's got quite a talent), so perhaps you'll see her name in a
Christian book store one day! :) ....She also has a prayer chain, if you'd
like to be on it. So...CHECK IT OUT...Anita's Homepage (http://www.geocities.com/anitarundell)
The reflection of the stairs: There is a chair by
the window in the front of my house. Next to the chair is a lamp. When I sit in the chair, looking out the window, and the lamp is off, the light from the computer room shines on the stairs and you can see the reflection of the stairs in the window. It started me thinking...if the light in the computer room was off, and no other lights were on, OR there were TOO many lights on, I wouldn't see the reflection. Like our own lives. When all our other "lights" are "off", but the light of Jesus is on...others will see HIS reflection in us, BUT if we have no lights shining, OR there are too many other "lights" on, they won't see any reflection. SO, let's make sure we don't let anything outshine the love of Jesus in us...and never let our "Light" go out...Matthew 5:16...Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
HOW THINGS WOULD BE DIFFERENT IF MICROSOFT HEADQUARTERS WERE IN THE SOUTH...
1. Their #1 product would be "Microsoft Winders".
2. Instead of an hourglass icon, you'd get an empty beer bottle.
3. Occasionally, you'd bring up a winder that was covered with aHefty bag and some duct tape.
4. Dialog boxes would give you the choice of "Aaw-right!", "Naw", or"Git" instead of "Yes", "No", or "Cancel".
5. Instead of "Ta-da!", the opening sound would be Dueling Banjos.
6. The "Recycle Bin" in Winders 95 would be an outhouse.
7. Whenever you pulled up the Sound Player, you'd hear a digitized drunk redneck yelling "Freebird!"
8. Instead of "Start Me Up", the Winders 95 theme song would be "Achey-Breaky Heart".
9. Power Point would be named "ParPawnt".
10. Microsoft's programming tools would be "Vishul Basic" and "Vishul C++".
11. Winders 95 logo would incorporate the Confederate Flag.
12. Instead of "VP", Microsoft big shots would be called "Cuz".
13. Hardware could be repaired using parts from an old Trans Am.
14. Four words: Daisy Duke Screen Saver.
15. "Well, the first thing you know old Bill's a billionaire..."
16. Flight Simulator would be replaced by Tractor-Pull Simulator.
17. Microsoft CEO: Billy-Bob (a.k.a. "Bubba") Gates.
We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need. If you ever wished to be removed, please send me an e-mail and I will remove you, no hard feelings. :) God bless
