God has a plan for each one of us, if we put our trust in Him and let Him work things out. When we take matters into our own hands, we just mess things up. Look at Abraham...he and Sarah took matters into their own hands and got an Ishmael...had they waited, they would have just gotten an Isaac. But he rushed things, as we all tend to do, and caused many problems down through the ages. We all have a very hard time waiting for God to work things out, to bring things about. Trust me, I know firsthand. We want that fed-ex, overnight delivery of God's plan, but God gives us the 4-6 weeks delivery method, even 4-6 years. :o) Even then sometimes it doesn't come, and it's not because He wants to hurt you, it's because He's either working things out, preparing you for what will come, or He has another great plan that you don't know about yet. Trust Him for that. God knows us better than we know ourselves, and loves us so much that He wants what's best for us. Jeremiah 29:11-"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." And Proverbs 19:21 tells us, "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." So if we have a willing heart, He has a greater purpose, to conform us to His image, and He will work in our hearts to prepare us for His will. He's doing things in my own life that I would never have imagined. Using people I would have never thought of. I love when He works in mysterious ways, because I love to see the way He works. He's also preparing my heart for whatever He has in mind, helping my own faith to grow. I'm learning to trust more, and worry less. So, while sometimes God says "yes", trust him even when...
Chorus :
Sometimes God is silent,
Sometimes God says, "yes."
But even when the answer's no,
Don't sit there in distress.
For He's working in your life,
To help your faith to grow,
So trust the Lord for everything,
Even when the answer's no.
Does the path that you are walking,
Sometimes seem unclear?
Are the answers that you're getting,
Not what you want to hear?
The questions you are asking,
You wonder, 'Is He aware?'
When you feel most alone,
You may wonder if He's there?
Has confusion and frustration,
Left you feeling down,
Well let me share with you,
Something I have found.
Chorus:
Sometimes God is silent,
Sometimes God says, "yes."
But even when the answer's no,
Don't sit there in distress.
For He's working in your life,
To help your faith to grow,
So trust the Lord for everything,
Even when the answer's no.
Bridge:
Sometimes it's just a matter of time,
And God wants you to wait.
For His timing is always perfect,
He's never a minute late.
I know I just recently sent out the link for Anthony's site, but I am going to plug it again, not because he posted my Broadway poem, but because of his talent. I recently ordered two of his CDs as well as one of his videos. I was completely blown away by them. Hands of Time, his most recent, is one of the most incredible CDs I have ever heard! The arrangements are fantastic, and his piano playing is mind boggling. How he plays that fast is truly a gift from God. Exodus, one of the songs on this CD, alone is worth it. I mentioned this song in my last letter about Anthony, and how it took him 3 years to perfect it, only to find out two people were playing this song! Now THAT's talent!! I also got Best of Anthony Burger, which has tons of songs on it, and Live, All Aboard, his solo video. I greatly encourage you to visit his site again and look into getting some of his products. You will be greatly blessed by them. Anthony has a very genuine heart for God, and it's evident in his talent. His testimony is also very powerful, about how his hands got accidentally burned as a child and the doctors told him he'd never use them again. God had other plans!!!! He not only travels with the Gaithers as their piano player, with Mark Lowry on his tours, AND with a trio (consisting of Ivan Parker, Kirk Talley, and himself), but also as a solo artist...so he's got quite a full schedule! He has a great voice too! Check out his schedule and see if he'll be in your area. So please check it out again!! Click on the blue link below, or just cut and paste the link into your browser...
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE - Medical HumorTony was in the hospital, near death. The family called their preacher to stand with them. As the preacher stood next to the bed, Tony's condition appeared to deteriorate and he motioned frantically for something to write on. The pastor lovingly handed him a pen and a piece of paper and Tony used his last bit of energy to scribble a note, then he died. The preacher thought it best not to look at the note at that time, so he placed it in his jacket pocket. At the funeral, as he was finishing the message, he realized that he was wearing the same jacket that he was wearing when Tony died. He said, "You know, Tony handed me a note just before he died. I haven't looked at it, but knowing Tony, I'm sure it's a wonderful message."
He opened the note, and read, "Get off my oxygen tube!"
We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only
way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need. If you ever wished to be removed, please send me an e-mail and I will remove you, no hard feelings. :) God bless.
