6. About my poetry
Sorry to fill up your mailboxes so much, but God has been teaching me so many things, and inspiring me so many ways!! :) I was complaining to myself this morning, can't remember about what, and the words "count it all joy" came to mind. I thought, "Wow, God, you're so right. My problems are so small, and even when hard situations come up, I can get through anything with You." James 1:2-4 says, "2. Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3. because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." I love that..."Finish it's work"....God is doing a great work in each and every one of us, and if we are willing, when He is done, we will be mature and complete and ready for the next work He will do! He is an awesome God and will never let you down. I know many of you are going through very difficult situations, and I know you will agree that with God on your side, you will be able to get through it. I know they're not easy, but the trials we face won't last, and the lessons we learn from them are for our good...SO...
Just like Daniel in the lions den,
and Jonah in the whale.
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego,
And Peter in the jail.
These were all a test of faith,
a witness to those who saw.
They all proved that God can work,
even in the midst of it all.
So, count it all joy,
when you face hard tribulations.
Count it all joy,
For you have your salvation.
Trials will only strengthen you,
and help your faith to grow.
So when God tests your faith,
count it all joy.
If any of you lacks wisdom,
ask God, who gives generously.
If you don't believe and doubt,
you're just like a wave in the sea.
Blessed is the man who perseveres,
for when he has stood the test,
He'll receive the crown of life,
and he will surely be blessed!
So, count it all joy,
when you face hard tribulations.
Count it all joy,
For you have your salvation.
Trials will only strengthen you,
and help your faith to grow.
So when God tests your faith,
count it all joy.
I was recently privileged to meet, over the internet, one of the sweetest people. Krista Weygand is a southern gospel singer and I'm looking forward to receiving her CD! Thanks Krista!! :) I have only known her for a week, and I have already been touched by a gracious woman of God. I don't know much about her, YET, but I do know she has a sweet Spirit, down to earth attitude, and I can tell she really loves the Lord. You can read more about her by checking out her website and biography. I know you, too, will be as blessed as I am.
CHECK IT OUT!!.... Krista Weygand
Here's a corny joke for the day. Stupid, but funny!
Two robins were sitting in a tree. "I'm really hungry," said the first one.
"Me too," said the second. "Let's fly down and find some lunch."
They flew to the ground and found a nice plot of plowed ground full of worms. They ate and ate and ate 'til they could eat no more.
"I'm so full I don't think I can fly back up to the tree," said the first one.
"Me neither. Let's just lay here and bask in the warm sun," said the second.
"OK," said the first.
They plopped down, basking in the sun. As soon as they had fallen asleep, a big, fat tomcat snuck up and gobbled them up.
As he sat washing his face after his meal, he thought, "I love baskin' robins."
We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need. If you ever wished to be removed, please send me an e-mail and I will remove you, no hard feelings. :) God bless.
