Over the past few years I have been privileged to meet some really great people over the internet, many of whom have greatly encouraged me in my pursuit as a writer and singer and also my walk with God. In turn, God has been able to use my poems and stories and friendship to help them through whatever situation they've been dealing with. Certain situations have inspired many of my poems. A few particular situations have inspired this one. I don't ever claim to know someone's pain, because unless you've been through it, you really have no idea how they're truly feeling. Sometimes the best thing you can do for them is just to listen, let them spill out their heart, and pray for them. I think sometimes we're too quick to jump in, thinking we know or have the answer for them, and they're turned off and their hearts close to you and God even more. Some are going to take longer than others to either open up or turn back to God. Just continue to pray for them. God knows what will help them.

Well this particular poem reflects the deep pain of sexual abuse. Thank God I have never been through it but have met some who have. Years of pain and hurt is buried deep in their hearts and sometimes they don't even realize it. I feel people like this just need to know they are loved, more importantly that God loves them and will NEVER hurt them, and that you are not going to hurt them. You need to build up that trust with them before they may even open themselves up to your love and God's. Without realizing it, they have let a seed of bitterness grow inside them and it overpowers them so much that they may become sick, depressed, angry at God and people. It's understandable, but curable. Through God they have the victory to overcome this. Satan planted that seed and they need to reject that thought in Jesus name, and claim His victory that He won at Calvary, filling their minds with Scriptures that claim that victory. God also wants to have a personal relationship with them.  He wants to be our closest friend, One who has promised to never leave us, forsake us, or hurt us. So for those of you who have ever been through this or know someone who has, let them know and please know...

Just a girl of thirteen years,

Whose innocence was stripped away,

By someone close who really didn't care that she'd said, "No!"

And so she hid her heart away,

Who'd care what she might have to say,

In bitterness and hatred her once pure heart did grow.

Years went by, new fears they grew.

Afraid of what others might do.

Her feelings kept this girl from getting close to anyone.

If she just knew in her heart,

That this kept her far apart,

From the love that comes from God and His only Son.

He wants to heal you, my friend,

Oh won't you let him in.

He wants to love you, my friend,

And take away this hurt within.

He wants to keep you safe, if only

You will give your heart to Him.

Look to the Lord above,

my friend,

You need to know that you are loved.

Then one day she made a start,

To open up her broken heart.

A song she heard about God's love had touched her deep inside.

She then asked God to take away,

This grief that weighed her down each day.

And in her sorrow, she fell down upon her knees and cried.

And the freedom she felt then and there,

This was something without compare,

To anything that she'd ever seen or done.

She could hold this hope out to a friend,

A love she knew would never end.

This love that came from knowing God and His only Son.

HEY here's an AWESOME website. This is one of my friends from the Gaither chatroom I have had the great privilege to get to know. She is not only sweet, encouraging and kind, but FUNNY!!!!!! She has livened up the chatroom with her quick wit and side splitting remarks. If you love the Gaithers, I know you will appreciate the things she has put on her website. Even if you don't, you will enjoy her sense of humor!! You will also see the great friend I, the Gaither community, even the Gaither singers, have been honored to get to know!! Please save this site in your favorites, because I know she is working on some more interesting ideas to put up there!!! MOMMY'S LITTLE ANGEL

An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him, "How do you expect to get into Heaven?"

The boy thought it over and said,"Well, I'll just run in and out, and in and out, and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, 'For Heaven's sake, Jimmy, come in or stay out!'"

A STORMY RELATIONSHIP

One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her small boy into bed. She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, "Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?"

The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug. "I can't " she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's room."

A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice: "The big sissy."

LOSING FACE

Finding one of her students making faces at others on the playground. Ms. Smith stopped to gently reprove the child. Smiling sweetly, the Sunday School teacher said, "Bobby, when I was a child, I was told that if I made ugly faces, it would freeze and I would stay like that."

Bobby looked up and replied, "Well, Ms. Smith, you can't say you weren't warned."

We are all on a journey through life. Some of us get lost, some search for the truth, some have found the truth, and sometimes we all need a little "service station" along the way to continue on. These poems were written for that purpose; for those seeking to find life, for those who have it, but need a little lift, for those who have strayed and need directions back, and for those who just need a little encouragement. It is for every day living, experiences, heartaches that lead us to the realization that God is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I pray my poems minister to your heart, and give you the energy, direction and encouragement that you need.
